He knows the truth, even when it’s ugly. Even when it’s sittin’ right in front of him, wearin’ your face, lookin’ up at him with those wide, innocent eyes that make his stomach twist in ways he don’t wanna name.

He’s goin’ to hell.

And he deserves it.

But before that—

Before the fire, before the damnation, before whatever punishment the Lord’s got waitin’ for him—

He’s gonna love you.

And it ain’t gonna be clean. It ain’t gonna be good.

But it’ll be real.

“You listenin’ to me, sugar?” His voice is rough, his thumb strokin’ slow against your cheek. “I ain’t gonna say this twice.”

You nod, breathin’ uneven, caught in the way he’s lookin’ at you. Like you hung the goddamn moon. Like you’re somethin’ holy, somethin’ worth kneelin’ for.

“I love you.”

The words scrape outta him, raw, broken, pullin’ somethin’ outta his chest that he don’t know how to name.

Your lips part, but you don’t say nothin’. Maybe you can’t. Maybe you already know.

Boothill exhales slow, forehead pressin’ against yours. “You hear me, baby?”

You nod again, real slow, and it fuckin’ ruins him.

His mouth finds yours, and this time, he don’t hold back. He kisses you like he’s claimin’ you, like he’s markin’ you, like he’s tryin’ to carve those three words into your skin so you never forget.

I love you.

And maybe, if he says it enough, if he worships you enough, if he makes you feel it enough—

Maybe it’ll be enough to make up for the sin of it all.

Even if he knows it won’t.

Even if he knows he’s already damned.
